As your maternity photographer in Ottawa, my heart is truly happiest while preserving what it feels. That is, the essence of motherhood in its purest form.  I understand how at times, pregnancy can feel anything but glamorous. With each week comes a different wave of emotions, discomforts and love for the wonders your body is doing to house and protect two heartbeats at once. This is why, as your Ottawa Maternity Photographer, it is my greatest honour to preserve maternity for my moms-to-be. I ensure each mom walks away from her Ottawa maternity photo session feeling beautiful, empowered & celebrated, amongst many other things!

Documenting this gorgeous mom-to-be’s first pregnancy was incredibly special. Mom waited oh so patiently for the magnolias to bloom here in Ottawa, which happened to  survive the sudden onset of frost. As a hobbyist gardener for her friends, family & the bees, it was only fitting that her maternity session took place among the blooms. We choose one of the most exquisite gardens — the Dominion Arboretum at the Experimental Farm – for these Ottawa maternity photos.

While curating her gallery, I immediately knew that it had to be titled, “The most beautiful season for a season of waiting”. Because of the beautiful parallel between spring & being an expectant mother. From new beginnings to powerful transformations, a new version of a woman emerges, just as the magnolias do (which, by the way, symbolize female energy and strength!). 

My goodness, was the session worth the wait! The light, the love and the blooms did not disappoint! When I delivered her gallery, mom responded with, “Ugh I’m getting emotional looking at the photos. Thank you times a million!”.

As your dedicated photographer in Ottawa for maternity photos, I pour my heart and soul into carefully curating an experience that is bespoke, intentional & sentimental for each of my mothers. These words truly felt like the warmest hug, and in that moment, I could feel that mom knew just how truly beautiful she is. How magical her body is for creating and carrying her beautiful baby. For example, how one day someday, her daughter would see the images and see that same beauty, all while realizing how loved she was before she was nestled in her parents’ arms. As a photographer specializing in maternity sessions in Ottawa, this is the most rewarding feedback.
